Summit Journal #19 Call for Proposals

After the successful launch of Summit Journal’s latest “Power Issue,”, focused on the intersection of commercial real estate and energy, AFIRE is seeking general article proposals for Summit Journal #19, with a broad focus on economic trends, market analyses, and other topics relevant to the current conversation for cross-border investment into US real estate. Deadline: Thursday, July 17, 2025.

With global political dynamics undergoing a major historical shift, and strategic realignments among leading economies and alliances, what does the future of global real estate investment look like? How will the US and North America fare against other world regions?

What near- and long-term opportunities should investors be exploring in the current landscape? And what are the legal or regulatory challenges global investors should be planning for or leveraging? What are the trends unfolding beyond the built environment—such as climate change, AI, insurance, capital markets, global migration—that could upend or transform established theses?

Publish your ideas and research in Summit #19 and position your thought leadership at the forefront of the conversation on global real estate.

  • Executives, economists, academics, subject experts, and thought leaders
  • Active across real estate, energy, design, policy, and development
  • Focused on commercial real estate, finance, regulation, innovation, urbanism, climate science, technology, transportation, and more

We welcome proposals for both original drafts and pre-published articles that explore topics such as (but not limited to):

  • Reconciling global investor sustainability mandates with fragmented US regulations
  • How US assets are being evaluated for physical and transition risk by international LPs
  • How SWFs, pension plans, global REITs, and other institutional investors are rebalancing toward or away from the US
  • Current issues in cross-border tax treatment and implications for long-term strategy
  • Investment opportunities at the nexus of real estate and clean energy (e.g., data centers, grid-tied industrials, solar-ready logistics)
  • Identifying resilient and underappreciated US markets for global investors
