Call for Proposals: Summit Journal Issue #22

AFIRE invites global thought leaders and experts in commercial real estate to contribute to the forthcoming Issue #22 of Summit Journal, to be released in September 2026 in conjunction with the AFIRE Annual Member Meeting in New York.

Proposals are due Friday, July 10 Wednesday, July 15.

SUGGESTED TOPICS

This is an open call for all topics across the commercial real estate spectrum, but some relevant suggestions include:

  • Emerging risk factors in global real estate (e.g., supply chain disruption, climate shocks, ESG regulation)
  • The impact of monetary policy, inflation, and interest rates on cross-border capital allocation
  • Geopolitical trends, migration, demography, and related economic and development policy factors
  • Alternative real estate sectors: industrial, data centers, logistics, life sciences, vertical farming, etc.
  • Capital structure innovation: debt, mezzanine, ESG-linked financing, securitization
  • Regulatory, tax, and compliance trends affecting foreign investment in real property
  • Market opportunities in underexplored US metros or secondary markets
  • Comparative global markets: lessons from Europe, Asia, Latin America, or Africa

TIMELINE

  • Wednesday, July 15: Proposals due
  • Friday, July 17: Authors notified
  • Friday, August 7: First drafts due
  • Tuesday, September 15: Print issue distributed
  • Monday, September 21: Digital issue launched
  • September – December: Proactive release and publicity period
